About Our Team:
The Legal Department at American Greetings consists of seven professionals, including 4 lawyers handling a wide array of laws impacting our business. Our team is small but mighty, collectively bringing with them the expertise of over 80 years of legal experience in areas including Mergers and Acquisition, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, Litigation, Privacy, Antitrust, and Trade Compliance. In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is adaptable and efficient, as this can be a fast-paced environment with frequent fixed deadlines. Sound business judgement as well as the ability to work quickly, creatively and collaboratively are essential. Understanding our culture, embracing the diversity of our team and building strong relationships is essential. As we operate in every state, we need someone open to some travel to our plants, subsidiaries, conferences, external meetings, etc. Experience Required:

Qualifications:
o A J.D. from an accredited law school o Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio. o Five to seven years of general corporate legal experience, including negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. o Law firm and/or in-house experience o Experience working on e-commerce matters, IT contracts and/or data privacy a plus Knowledge, Skills & Abilities o Strong communication (oral and written) skills o Foundation in commercial/business law o Ability to collaborate effectively across groups with a sense of urgency, including the ability to influence without formal authority. o A keen business sense, the skills to find creative solutions to legal issues, and the ability to effectively balance legal risks against business interests. o Outstanding organizational and analytical skills. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and possessing the ability to lead, and motivate others. o Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to, contracts for procurement, sales, licensing, finance, technology, and marketing o Experience providing legal advice on e-commerce activities, online sales, IT contracts and/or data privacy a plus o Very proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Education Required:

Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
