JOB
Summary:
The Project Manager II drives the completion of projects through leadership and effective management.
He/she works with the team on identification and appropriate mitigation, resolution or acceptance of project risks.
Essential Functions:
Manages multiple approved projects concurrently as assigned, taking them through the full project lifecycle including scope, estimation, execution, implementation and support.
Maintains the project plan and tracks risks, actions, issues and decisions.
Creates detailed project plans and schedules using MS Project (or similar tool) with estimated delivery dates and frequent milestones by working with project stakeholders.
Determines scheduling needs and expected completion dates based upon current workload for projects Facilitates design meetings with user groups and technical staff to understand and document business needs/requirements.
Follows-up with team on progress in a timely manner to ensure successful completion of each project and updates project plans accordingly.
Holds regular support meetings with line of business managers to communicate project status and future needs.
Maintains formal project documentation including status, updates, scope changes, etc.
Manages a change control policy that ensures all system changes are well documented and approved after requirements are approved.
Performs detailed and thorough planning which limits delays, surprises or scope creep.
Provides weekly status reports on progress of multiple projects and identifies any potential issues that may lead to missing delivery dates for certain objectives.
Utilizes and maintains the Equity Trust Company (ETC) project management methodology for all projects.
Works with outside vendors when appropriate to coordinate involvement or provide support for internal projects.
Partners with technical staff to create estimates for project completion, determines scheduling needs based upon current project workload, and documents resources required for completion of objectives.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Creates post-mortem or project closure memos upon project completion and presents to stakeholders for review and improvement.
Provides scorecard illustrating success of project and expected results.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum three (3) years of software project management experience; financial services industry preferred.
Change management procedures preferred.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION(S):
None.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficient with Microsoft Power Point and Excel.
Experience with Microsoft Project or other project planning tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to speak and hear.
The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
It requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
