is currently looking to fill the role of Day & Community Outreach Specialist II.
The position will be responsible to implement person centered services as well as establish relationships with community members that will enhance the lives of the individuals supported by Welcome House.
Full-Time, M-F schedule BASIC FUNCTION:
The position works under the direct supervision of the Day and Community Outreach Manager and in cooperation with the individual and individual's team members as well as other people the individual has deemed important to them in their lives.
They will also be responsible to establish relationships with community members that will enhance the lives of the individuals supported by Welcome House.
Qualifications:
Must have High School diploma or GED; previous IDD experience preferred or related social service field.
REQUIREMENTS:
Age 21 or older Meet Direct Support Professional (DSP) job and skill requirements, attributes and values.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and have or acquire skills to safely lift, turn, position and transfer individuals with physical limitations.
Must have solid communication skills, both oral and written.
Must have solid computer skills and understanding of MS Word, Excel and e-mail Must have strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
Must demonstrate interpersonal skills, integrity and ability to lead others.
Must have a belief in and understanding of agency's culture and mission and ability to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values to internal and external stakeholders.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid Ohio driver's license with four points or less, and auto insurance.
Must have satisfactory background and driving record check.
(SR-22 holders not eligilbe.
) Must be flexible with schedule to cover call offs, vacations and sick.
Must be willing and able to engage all individuals supported in the community and participate in the development of community membership.
