Paramedic I - (240004CM)Description Position SummaryAssist patients and health care needs as directed by clinician during Emergency Department visit including performing 12 lead EKGs, blood draws, initiate Hep-locks, bedside point of care testing, aerosol treatments.
Ensures the daily completion of point of care testing quality controls, defibrillator checks, refrigerator checks, transports.
Performs ABGs and gain IV access as directed by order.
Prepares patients and care environment for exam, specimen collection and anticipates needs of patients and providers proactively.
Performs delegated basic procedures as described by their annual competency based tool and orientation program.
Required For All JobsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

RequiredMedical terminology.
PreferredPatient care equipment specific to assigned population, telephone, beeper system, and nurse call system.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
