GENERAL
Summary:
The wiedemann machine is used to punch holes into sheets of metal to the appropriate size for the work order of the customer. The wiedemann operator is responsible for setting up and operating the wiedemann machine. The position is responsible punching the holes in pieces of metal and changing the punches as needed to best suit the needs of the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
o Make sure the proper material is used for the current work order.
o Check that skid is built to the proper size according to the customer's wants.
o Establish proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used.
o Verify there will be enough material to complete the order.
o Operate the wiedemann machine to produce a product that fits the specifications of the work order from the customer.
o Be prepared by setting up next job so it can be started when the current job is finished. This will make sure there is a continuous work flow.
o Responsible for housekeeping of the wiedemann machine and surrounding areas at all times.
o Perform daily inspections prior to the start of each operating shift.
o Responsible to keep safety above all else when operating equipment.
o Must be able to work overtime as required.
o Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:
o A high school diploma or GED is required.
o Previous experience in this area or in the manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Basic math skills are required.
o Attention to detail is a must.
o Must be able to read blue prints and a tape measure.
o Good communication skills with other employees to ensure continuous work flow.
Physical Demands:
o Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
o Must be able to work in standing/walking position in excess of eight hours a day.
o Demonstrate good eye/hand coordination.
o Perform repetitive motions for eight hours of a day.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
