National Sales Manager

Summary:
Family-owned manufacturer of licensed consumer products is seeking a talented salesperson to achieve maximum sales and profit growth by managing sales of the company's products for a defined base of existing and prospect customers; to manage rep groups, brokers and distributors to ensure the consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue through positive planning; and to identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long term sales and profit.
DETAILS OF FUNCTION:
Achieve and where possible exceed defined sales budget.
Perform sales activities on defined accounts and negotiate sales price and discounts in consultation with VP Sales & Marketing.
Develop specific customer and product plans to ensure company sales budget and profit goals are met.
Develop leadership role within the company and takes ownership for all aspects of customer service pertaining to the defined base of customers, working with: marketing, accounts, logistics, and customer service.
Establish, make contact and present to major decision makers.
Collaborate with VP Sales & Marketing to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales, and create and review customer P&Ls.
Analyze and interpret POS and IRI Data.
Manage reps and brokers to achieve sales budget; make recommendations to improve performance, make changes where necessary.
Follow all sales policies, practices and procedures.
Manage promotional and support spend for all customers, reviewing any decisions with VP Sales & Marketing prior to presenting any financial programs to customers.
Interpret short and long term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
Present monthly and quarterly account sales updates v/s budget
Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identifying trends that effect current and future growth of sales.
Work closely with VP Sales & Marketing to develop existing staff by training and mentoring.
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Proven leadership skills
CPG experience and knowledge of all major retailers.
Broker/rep management experience.
Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position.
Strong analytical, negotiating and closing skills.
Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn and retain product specific information.
Proficient in MS Office Programs.
Education & Experience
BA degree in Business or related field.
10-15 years of sales experience in a similar role.
Working Hours & Travel
Ability to travel as required to meet with customers/brokers/reps/attend trade shows (up to 50%).
Hours may vary and will require evening and weekend work depending on business needs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
