Quality Supervisor

GENERAL
Summary:
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the quality department involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to all stages of the product being produced to assure that quality control standards are achieved. This position will be involved with the disposition of internal non conformances and will work with vendors and customers on quality issues. This incumbent will also be responsible for the calibration of gages, completion of CARs and working on process improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
o Responsible for maintaining ISO system.
o Manage and maintain calibration system.
o Ensure quality and safety procedures are being followed by all employees to ensure minimal issues.
o Issuance of CARs.
o Assign work and provide supervision to the Quality Inspector.
o Effectively communicate with vendors to resolve quality issues.
o Participate in the resolution of customer issues.
o Provide analysis of quality to management to determine opportunities for improvement.
o Train other employees in areas of quality.
o Implement process improvement projects and CARs.
o Assist the Manufacturing Engineering Manager on projects as needed.
o Performed other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:
o High school diploma or GED is required.
o A Bachelors degree is desired.
o 5 years quality control experience in an ISO 9001 (or QS) manufacturing environment.
o At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
o Experience with painted sheet metal (aluminum) is ideal.
o Experience with Gagetrak is preferred.
o Green or Black belt certification is desired.
o ISO 9001 (TS 16949) experience.
o Calibration experience.
o Experience in a fast pace, high changeover job shop is recommended.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Knowledge of Inspection and Quality Controls methods, techniques and equipment.
o Proficient computer skills, especially with MS Office.
o Ability to read blue prints, use calipers, micrometers and tape measures.
o Good understanding of customer products and acceptance criteria.
o Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product/material identifications.
o Attention to details, excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and ability to meet deadlines.
o Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
o Effectively communicate with all departments, customer and vendors.
o Must be a hands-on supervisor who will roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
o Able to document and complete CARs.
o Ensure the safety of the employees in the department.


Work Environment:
o Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
o Willing to travel as needed.
o Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
o Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area.
o Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud.
o Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
